E-Learning Portal: Sahodra Rai Government Polytechnic College, Sagar (MP) has launched an academic initiative by launching the e-learning portal https://www.srgpcsagar.in/students/e-learning. For the first time, such an e-learning learning technique has been developed by any one government institution, in which the educational material of various subjects in PDF; DOC; JPEG, Flash, Video format are available. Neither since education is neither a business nor it should be bound in the geographical boundaries, hence, the entire content uploaded on the portal is free of cost. Faculties of the college have developed various type of study material on diverse subjects and these materials have been made available on the portal.

At present one of the learning portal NPTL has been developed with the concerted effort of seven IITs in India, in which videos of different subjects are available and Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India is funding this project. In the same way, another portal 'Swayam', which has been jointly developed IIT Karragpur and AICTE have study materials in .pdf format.  Whereas the e-learning portal developed and launched by S. R.  Government Polytechnic College, Sagar (MP) haven’t received any grant from any corners and contains teaching materials in various formats.

The special feature of this portal is that the expenditure on its development is zero, and in this portal, non-academic subjects such as various rules / regulations of governance, election training related materials have also been presented in interesting way.

In the month of September, Madhya Pradesh Technical Education Minister, Shri Deepak Joshi formally launched this portal and minutely studied this portal and said that a training program for the principals of the whole of Madhya Pradesh's Government Engineering and Polytechnic College would be organized in the college and the further development of e-learning study materials will be discussed. Due to lack of higher education and lack of adaptation in traditional education, many students have started finding e-learning portal more convenient.

Features of e-learning

• E-learning is scalable in a manner that enables the user to quickly develop and communicate new styles, rules, policies, ideas and concepts.

• E-learning has competence and consistency - its use gives teachers the coverage for their target audience, and ensures that their academic message reaches all the students who receive the same training.

• Entered research has also demonstrated that the study of e-learning leads to growth in retention capacity and the study material remains in the brain for a longer time.

• E-learning also saves time and money and replaces classroom-based learning. Also, it is proving useful for the environment because printing of paper-based books is not required.

• This method is very flexible and using e-learning, students or others can study independently from their own convenience, at the speed of their understanding and it gives students the opportunity to slow or slow down as required.

• This eliminates geographic barriers, the comprehensive education option opens.

• Its access is always available 24/7 and more and more people can experience classes with their convenience.
