About Department

Introduction:

The Department of Architecture, established in 1995, is the oldest architecture department in the MP state and is consistently ranked as one of the top programs in the state.

It is a place where the individual creativity of a student can be cultivated and nurtured in a framework that is humanistically, socially, and environmentally responsible.

The Department offers the diploma program in the area of Architectural & Interior Design.

Notable strengths of the department that cut across the discipline groups are our devoted teaching, the grounding of architecture in both social and material issues, interdisciplinary nature, and the remarkable faculty, students, teaching.

Over the course of three years’ diploma course, students will cover subjects including Auto CAD, history of design, scaling, elevations, effects of colors, furniture design, various fixtures, landscaping, retrofit and other related subjects. Also, students are encouraged to implement their design ideas in models.

Inception:

The Department of Architecture & Interior Design was incepted in the year 1995 as a part of the then Government Women’s Polytechnic College Sagar (MP), with a modest intake of 30.
